A whole year has passed since you gave up eating foods with processed sugar in them. For you, chocolate (and eating sugar) never gave you happiness. In fact quite the opposite. It impacted your mental health, caused inflammation and for someone who puts on weight very easily, contributed to those extra kilos.
What a journey it has been. It started with the support and help of the Jumpstart group you took part in in November 2016. Those two weeks changed your life. Learning to eat differently, experimenting with new foods and the realisation again that you are a sugar addict. Your addiction meant that moderation was never an option. One chocolate bar led to another. And oh you tried with eating raw chocolate instead...it was still feeding your addiction and habit.
But here we are now in November 2017. A time to celebrate. You took on a big challenge and succeeded. You used the support available to you and embraced a new way of living.
You have more energy than before and are sleeping well every night. Your skin is glowing and those extra kilos you wanted to lose - well, they just fell off.
And most important of all , you are sparkling. The dark depression has lifted and whilst you still have a bad day once in a while, your outlook on life has shifted.
This is your future self saying keep going. It is worth it. You have the tools and the people in place on team Sophie to cheer you on. Admitting to an addiction is not a weakness. It is a strength.
